WeGoing! Opens $2,000 Contest for the Funniest Group-Trip Story in America

Pre-seed-backed group-travel app WeGoing! today launched its first national consumer contest, inviting U.S. residents 21 and older to submit the funniest stories from their friend-group trips — the kind every group chat already tells. Three prizes totaling $2,000 plus a free alternate method of entry; the promotion runs July 1 through July 31, 2026.

LOS ANGELES — June 30, 2026 — WeGoing!, an independently built coordination app for friend-group trips, today launched 'Every Friend Group Has That Trip,' a month-long national contest inviting U.S. residents 21 and older to share the funniest stories from their real group trips. The contest offers a $500 prize for the best video story, a $500 prize for the best written story, and a separate sweepstakes drawing for $1,000 toward the airline of the winner's choice.

The promotion period runs from 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time on July 1, 2026 through 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on July 31, 2026. The sweepstakes winner will be drawn on or before August 3, 2026 from a combined pool of app-qualified entries (created a WeGoing! trip and invited five friends) and free-method entries submitted at wegoingapp.com/stories/enter-sweepstakes. Both methods carry equal odds, as required by U.S. sweepstakes law.

WeGoing! is a coordination app for friend groups planning real trips — handling dates, budgets, the group's money, room assignments, and the awkward parts so the trip (and the friend group) doesn't fall apart. The platform's underlying coordination system is patent-pending and was developed by a small founding team with backgrounds in marketing and engineering, using AI tools throughout the product-development process.
